Different AI systems

Did you know there are three main types of Artificial Intelligence (AI)? Read below to find out more.
Classification AI
What it does: Classification AI sorts things into categories based on patterns it has learned.
Example: A mobile app for photos uses classification AI to group pictures of your friends.
How it works: It looks at faces in your photos and learns patterns, like the shape of someone’s eyes or smile, to decide which pictures belong to the same person. Then it creates a folder for each friend, helping you organise your photos.
Generative AI
What it does: Creates something new that didn’t exist before.
Example: Writing a story, creating a picture, or generating music.
How it works: It learns from examples (like books, images, or songs) and uses that knowledge to create original content based on prompts. Imagine it as a creative artist who combines what they’ve learned to make something fresh and unique.
Predictive AI
What it does: Predicts or guesses something based on patterns in data.
Example: Predicting the weather for tomorrow or guessing the next word you’re about to type.
How it works: It analyses past data (like weather patterns or your texting habits) and uses that to predict the future or what comes next. Think of it like a fortune teller who uses what they already know to make a guess.
